Legend has it that more than 3,000 years ago, two ancient peoples from the Iberian Peninsula, the Celts and the Iberians, gathered here every year to celebrate the winter solstice. And that night, the longest of the year, they sat under the branches of the oldest holm oak waiting for the sunrise, to worship this tree, which they considered sacred, as it yielded its precious fruit: the acorn, a symbol of plenty and prosperity. Today, this incredible legend takes shape in Alta Expresión Luxury Collection 2020, the limited-edition collection that Ibéricos COVAP is releasing this Christmas.

The design of the elegant packaging for this collection is inspired by the history and symbolism of the two cultures that left their mark on the dehesas of Cordoba: the Celts and the Iberians. It features a large ornamental design that mimics the sun – the sunrise marked the beginning of the new year for these cultures – and an icon in the middle symbolizing the holm oak tree. Each of these exclusive pieces is a unique creation inspired by the region from where they come: the Valle de los Pedroches, and the history they harbor: the history which only Ibéricos COVAP can tell.

Each of the pieces comes from a painstaking traditional production process which controls the aroma, the exact level of salt – from the Odiel salt flats, a natural park in the Huelva marshlands – and the optimal temperature over the almost 48 months of aging.
